How often have you heard filmmakers and television programmers say that a film or television programme is virtually made on the editing table. Indeed, a good editor can be the make or break factor for a film or television programme. The boom in the editing software industry and the needs for inserting appropriate special effects and effective transitions have made the job of an editor all the more challenging. It can also be said that the role of an editor requires the amalgamation of technical expertise and creative abilities. Good editors have always enjoyed recognition and great respect in the film and television fraternities. All said and done, the truth is that there are still very few editors in the industry who can satisfy the needs of the medium in question to the core. Therefore, if you pick up the skills of video editing well you could explore the challenges of this exciting career and this course could be the perfect starting point for you.
Broadly, the course contents are the following:
  • Understanding the idea of telling stories visually
  • How different shots put together create meanings
  • Various shooting formats, frame rates and aspect ratio
  • Setting up an editing machine, basic installation
  • Basics of montage theory and thoughts
  • Various editing patterns and its purpose
  • Mixing and mastering
 
Duration: Three Months, Classes: Thrice in a week, Fees: Rs 36,000/- (Two Instalments)
