Film is the most effective way of storytelling as it incorporates all other mediums of communication such as writing, dialogue, visuals, sound, music and dance. It also makes use of a variety of modern and folk forms of art. This integration and synthesis has led to evolution of the unique cinematic language. The film production course is designed to introduce the students to the world of cinema and its grammar. The objective of the curriculum is to learn the inherent capabilities of this art form of communication so as to experiment and produce films that are unique and fresh. | The first semester is common for all as it deals with basics of visual narratives. The second semester is designed specifically for each specialisation where they learn the specific roles and techniques in greater detail. At the end of the course, the students are expected to join together from different streams of specialisation and make a diploma film based on their learning during the course.
Simultaneously, students are expected to attend major film festivals, seminars and symposiums along with regular film screenings in the campus. They deconstruct, discuss and debate on films and its script, camera, sound and other technical aspects to evolve the mind to have a questing bent. |
