The selection procedure adopted by SAIMC is tailor made to analyze and understand applicants’ inner capabilities, dormant talents and aspirations. The selection procedure is segmented in 3 steps.

- Essay writing 20%
- Written test 30%
- Personal discussion 50%

Applicants have to write an essay in approximately 500 words on "Do you agree that mass communication can be an instrument of change. What made you choose a career in this industry and analyze yourself on how you will be able to excel" and submit it along with duly filled form by registered courier or post. The essay will be assessed on the basis of your basic writing and communication skills, level of self-awareness and confidence.

Based on the assessment of the essay, admission tickets will be sent to you to appear in entrance test to be held in the Delhi at the SAIMC Campus. You will be provided with a sketch (abstract) or Photograph which you have to describe in hundred words. The 1 ½ hour test will have objective and subjective questions. You will be asked to watch a short film. After that you have to answer related questions in around 200 Words. The test will be assessed in order to know your level of general knowledge, understanding of the subject, views on issues and personal traits. |

| The personal discussion will be held on the next day in Delhi at the Campus after the written test. The interview panel will be made up of distinguished personalities from the Mass Communication industry and academics. The discussion will try and recognize your conviction in the career that you have chosen and evaluate your personal traits vis-à-vis the current industry requirements. |

Based on the assessment of your cumulative performance, the first list of invitation for admission will be sent out. A second list will be generated based on availability of seats 15 days later.

- Write the essay yourself as it will help is assessing your hidden talents more accurately.
- In the written test, please choose the option you agree most. Remember, besides factual instances, there is nothing right or wrong in individual perceptions.
- Be true to yourself during the interview, as it will help the panel to guide you better. The panel is not there to eliminate you; it is there to help you assess the career that you want to adopt for life.

The best way of preparing for the selection procedure is to do a thorough self-analysis and be well versed with current affairs. A brush up with any general knowledge book and few readings on the industry that you have chosen will surely be beneficial. Remember, you are being selected not eliminated. |
